COCA-Cola Bottling Co Consolidated, which operates in 11 US states, has reported net sales of USD782.5 million for the first half of 2011, up from USD764.9 million in the equivalent half of 2010. On a comparable basis, the company earned USD18.6 million in the first half, versus USD21.3 million in the first half of 2010. CCBC said that while it has seen a steady volume performance in the food store channel, "we continue to experience weakness in the convenience store and on premise channels as consumers are impacted by high fuel prices". It added that higher costs for key raw materials, including fuel, resin for bottles, and sweetener, have resulted in greater increases in its costs than were experienced in the past two years.
