PERUVIAN fruit juice exports have steadily grown over the last six years by an average of 40% annually, according to the consulting firm, Maximize. Exports of fruit juice were fuelled by a 60.8% increase of passion fruit juice juice and other citrus juices (mainly lemon juice) with an increase of 39.9%. Sales were worth USD38.5 million, up from USD6 million in 2005. In volume terms, 2010 exports were 21 million litres, compared with 4.7 million litres in 2005. The US was the major customer, with sales up by nearly 39%, while shipments to the Netherlands rose by 23%.
