Greek peach purée will be competitive this yearThis article was originally published in Foodnews
ALTHOUGH no firm offers have emerged from Greece yet for new season peach purée, industry sources are reckoning on EUR800 per tonne ex-factory. Greece is expecting an entirely normal peach crop. "We are negotiating prices now," said one processor in the country, who refused to be drawn further. Yields for single strength purée are around 80%, so double strength purée would mean a raw material price of perhaps EUR600/tonne with a fruit price of EUR0.25 per kg.
