Soya crushing lower

ARGENTINE soya-crushing fell 25.7% in November year-on-year to 2.24m tonnes, as stocks ran thin after a drought-stricken 2011/12 season, the government said. The next harvest is not expected to get under way until March in the world’s top supplier of soya oil and soyameal and the number three exporter of unprocessed beans. In the first 11 months of 2012, 31.4m tonnes of soya were crushed in the country, down 9% from the same 2011 period.
