MASSACHUSETTS-based Bay State Milling is taking over natural and organic ingredients specialist T.J. Harkins and its subsidiaries. Bay State said the deal would provide a synergy of technical expertise across a wide range of applications and ingredients, and bring “an unrivalled platform of grains, edible seeds, speciality flours and organic ingredients to market”. Harkins’ range of organic products includes sesame seeds, cinnamon, ancient grains, grain blends and a wide choice of flours. Dan Collins, president and chief executive of Harkins, will become executive vice president of business development at Bay State.
