Cuba honours sugar export deals

CUBA met its raw sugar export commitments through February and expects to do so this month despite a 106,000-tonne shortfall in production since the harvest began, official media said. The Communist party daily, Granma, said plans to produce 1.45m tonnes of raw sugar this season were 13 days, or 106,000 tonnes, behind schedule due to mechanical and labour problems. It said export plans were exceeded in February and the March plan should be met.
