Burundi aims high in coffee sector

BURUNDI plans to increase its annual coffee output by 33% by replacing coffee bushes planted in the 1930s with a newer, higher yielding variety, the industry regulator, ARFIC said. Burundi's highest production of green coffee is around 30,000 tonnes per season, and the aim is to reach 40,000 to 50,000 tonnes in the next five years, said the ARFIC.
