GRAIN SA, which represents South African grain producers, has appointed Jannie de Villiers (pictured)as its new chief executive, it said last week. Grain SA chairman Neels Ferreira said he replaced Kobus Loubscher, who had reached the compulsory retirement age of 60. Mr de Villiers is the executive director of the Chamber of Milling and is chairman of the Maize Trust and Winter Cereal Trust and the SA Grains Information Service. He is due to take up his post in March, prior to the organisation's 2011 congress.
