COFFEE exports from India rose 49% to 87,913 tonnes between October and January, on abundant availability of the old crop and lower prices, data from the Coffee Board showed. Exports in value terms rose to $225.07m this coffee year starting October from $133.58m a year ago. India, the world's fifth biggest producer, accounts for only 4.5% of the world's coffee, but exports 70 to 80% of its output. Italy, Russia and Germany are the top three buyers of Indian coffee.
