AUSTRALIAN online trading platform Clear Grain Exchange has reported a marked increase in traffic in its second year of operation, and is confident there will be plenty more grain placed on the exchange over coming months as farmers attempt to market warehoused grain. Currently, the company reports that there are over 65,000 tonnes of grain on offer for purchase on the exchange, with over 3,000 growers actively using the system. Robert Nelson, business development manager at Clear, said a steady stream of new buyers have registered over the 2009/10 season and more buyers are expected on board as the season progresses. An agreement with GrainCorp, which allows growers with grain warehoused at a GrainCorp site to sell their grain via the system, also helped.
