CHINESE production volumes of soft drinks were 130.2 million tonnes in 2012, according to China’s National Bureau of Statistics, up 10.7% year-on-year. Production of carbonated soft drinks (CSDs) totalled 13.1 million tonnes, an increase of 18.4%; volumes of vegetable and juice drinks were 22.3 million tonnes, an increase of 16.1%; while production of bottled water increased by 55.6 million tonnes, or 16.2%. Production volumes of soft drinks excluding the big three were 39.2 million tonnes, an increase of 13.8%.
