Blackcurrant approval

This article was originally published in Foodnews

CYVEX Nutrition has achieved self-affirmed GRAS (generally recognised as safe) status for its Euro blackcurrant extract. As such, the extract is now safe for use in a range of functional foods and beverages. The blackcurrant extract is standardised to 25% anthocyanins, contains numerous vitamins and minerals. “Manufacturers can now safely and easily incorporate Euro blackcurrant to transform conventional food and beverage offerings into functional products that deliver powerful antioxidant benefits,” said Constance Ostler, Cyvex’s director of sales and marketing.
