ConAgra Foods is planning to expand its Lamb Weston frozen potato plant in Oregon, US, with a USD200 million investment. The expansion of the processing site, which will include a 192 000ft addition, is expected to start next year and will be completed in 2014, according to company plans. Rick Martin, global operations vice president of ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston, said the project reflects the company’s trust towards Oregon potato growers, and will work towards maintaining long-term growing practices that are both fair and sustainable. The company has seven facilities in the region, and employs around 4 500 people.
