Cranberry company helps Lassonde sales

 CANADIAN fruit juice maker Lassonde Industries has posted a third-quarter profit of CAD10.3 million (USD10.3 million), up from USD8.2 million in Q3 last year. Sales rose by 21% to just over CAD255 million from CAD211 million. Neil Murray writes: Clement Pappas, the cranberry juice company that Lassonde bought last year for USD390 million (FOODNEWS 24 June 2011) , helped increase the company’s sales at a time when lower fruit juice and juice drink volumes are being experienced in both Canada and the US, according to chief executive Pierre-Paul Lassonde. “The third-quarter 2012 results reflect markets that continue to be affected by high raw material costs,” he added, Lassonde makes a wide range of fruit and vegetable juices and drinks, and owns brands such as Everfresh, Fairlee, Flavur, Fruite, Graves, Oasis and Rougemont.
