Soft drinks drought

This article was originally published in Foodnews

MALAWI is once again suffering a shortage of soft drinks such as Fanta, Sprite, Ginger, Cherry plum and other products, according to local media reports. Some shops are just stocking one type of drink, while others are completely sold out. The most available drink is Coca-Cola. Carlsberg Malawi is the country’s main soft drinks bottler, and recently had problems when a strike at the local water board resulted in the water supply to the company being disconnected. In the past, there has also been a shortage of gas for carbonation and bottles for packing (FOODNEWS 11 November 2011).
