THE western New York fruit juice producer, Mayor Bros. Apple Products, has earmarked USD9.0 million to improve its production facilities and to install hard (alcoholic) cider and bottling lines. This should safeguard 200 jobs at its factory. Natalie Popow writes: although US hard cider sales are only 0.5% of the entire beer market in the US, its popularity is on the rise.
