INDIAN mushroom processing company, Agro Dutch, has recalled several containers of canned mushrooms after traces of carbendazim were detected, website EquityBulls.com reports. The fungicide, which has also caused extensive problems for the Brazilian orange juice industry, was detected by the US FDA during testing. The website reports that the discovery has adversely affected the company’s sales, and that fresh composting has been stopped until the issue is resolved. Agro Dutch has a production capacity of 50 000 tonnes.
