Poor UK soft drinks figuresThis article was originally published in Foodnews
UK SOFT drinks sales in the 52 weeks to 9 June showed a value rise of 3.3%, according to the latest data from SymphonyIRI, but volumes were static. Sales were worth nearly GBP6.73 billion (USD10.55 billion). Flavoured/fortified water and energy drinks showed the strongest growth in both value and volume terms, while yogurt drinks and flavoured milks fell. Dilutable drinks performed badly (unsurprising, in view of the poor weather) and the market for fruit juice and drinks and smoothies was down 5.4% in volume to 1.36 billion litres.
