STARBUCKS is to open three more Evolution Fresh juice stores in the US, in addition to the one it opened earlier this year. Starbucks is also expanding distribution of ready-to-drink bottles of its Evolution juice in supermarkets and other stores. The US premium juice sector is showing good growth (unlike the ‘ordinary’ fruit juice segment), with volumes up 25%, according to Beverage Digest . Starbucks bought the Evolution Fresh brand late last year for USD30 million (FOODNEWS 18 November 2011) . Starbucks also plans to open its first Tazo tea shop this autumn, offering more than 80 varieties of tea drinks, as well as packaged chocolates, infused sugars and honeys, near its headquarters in Seattle.
