Mouse found in canThis article was originally published in Foodnews
FRENCH supermarket chain, Carrefour, is investigating how a mouse’s head got into a tin of its own-brand beans. The rodent’s head was found by a man from Haute-Savoire only after he began to prepare a second helping of the beans. As a gesture of goodwill, the supermarket chain has offered the man compensation. Carrefour told Le Figaro : “Customer services have contacted the client with our apologies and to thank him for having alerted us to this. .. although this is an exceptional situation, Carrefour has decided to recall the rest of the batch to avoid any potential inconvenience to other clients.” The supermarket is so far unaware of how the mouse’s head came to be in the can, Food Quality News reports.
