PEPSICO, which is about to invest USD206 million in a dairy facility in co-operation with Müller, believes that the US market for dairy is “nowhere near its full potential”, website FoodNavigator-USA reports. The factory will specialise in yogurts. A spokeswoman explained that Pepsi was confident the joint venture would succeed: customers are becoming gradually more aware of dairy products’ health benefits, but US per capita consumption remains lower than that of Europe. Yogurts present a good way of adding value to dairy products.
