Change at Sainsbury’sThis article was originally published in Foodnews
SAINSBURY’S, one of the UK’s ‘Big Four’ grocers, has said that Mark Horgan will no longer be joining the company as marketing director. Horgan, who was due to take on the role in January, said he has decided not to join, owing to personal reasons. At the same time, brand director Claire Harrison-Church is stepping down in February “to pursue other opportunities” after three years at Sainsbury’s. Group commercial director of Sainsbury’s, Mike Coupe, will oversee the marketing team until a replacement is found. A successor to Harrison-Church has not yet been named. Separately, Sainsbury’s corporate communications director Mark Rigby is also to leave. He will be replaced by Alex Cole, previously managing director of Freud Communications.
