Disguised thieves steal tuna

This article was originally published in Foodnews

TWO Ecuadorian lorry drivers carrying a load of tuna had their cargo stolen after being accosted by criminals claiming to be the police, El Universo reports. The thieves said that they were arresting the drivers on suspicion of carrying drugs and claimed to have a warrant to search it. The men were then “arrested” and driven away in a fake police car. However, the men became suspicious when they were driven in the wrong direction and it became apparent that their captors were impostors. The stolen tuna had an estimated value of USD72 000. The investigation continues.
