SAMEER Agriculture and Livestock Ltd of Uganda has undertaken a USD2.5 million investment in a juice processing plant at its Bugolobi complex. This is the company’s biggest venture outside its usual range of dairy products. Sameer’s range of juices, called Daima, comes in six flavours: mango, apple, pineapple, guava, orange and mixed fruit, made from imported concentrates. Sameer intends to move towards processing indigenous fruits and has earmarked USD5.0 million for construction of a fruit processing plant.
