New Brazilian nectarsThis article was originally published in Foodnews
BRAZILIAN food company Predilecta Alimentos is launching a new line of fruit nectars in a bid to gain a foothold in the burgeoning nectar market. Vladimir Pekic writes : the new preservative-free nectars, named Néctar Predilecta, are available in six flavours, including guava, cashew, peach, grape, mango and orange. They are packed in 1-litre TetraPaks, according to the São Paulo-based food processor. Although the new nectars are not innovative products in the market, Predilecta hopes to take on the competition successfully by offering a product with lower production costs. Predilecta Alimentos became the first industry in Brazil to develop and create aseptic guava pulp for juice production, which serves to replace frozen guava pulp.
