GHANA’s government has allocated GHS49.3 million (USD31 million) under the Export Development and Investment Fund to support 131 institutions and farmer based organisations to facilitate the cultivation of mango for export across four regions in the country. The aim is to develop and promote exports to Europe. The country’s Minister for Trade and Industry, Hanna Tetteh, said that from January 2009 to September 2011, a total amount of GHS137.7 million had been approved for 168 projects.
