NESTLE has confirmed that its chief financial officer, Jim Singh, will retire on 31 March, 2012, after 35 years with the Swiss food firm. Wan Ling Martello, currently executive vice president of global e-commerce, emerging markets, at US retail giant Walmart, will succeed Singh on 1 April 2012. Prior to her role at Walmart, Martello was senior vice president, chief finance officer and strategy at Walmart International, a role she held from 2005-2011. She has also worked at Kraft Foods in finance and business administration as well as Borden Foods Corporation as corporate controller. Paul Bulcke, chief executive of Nestlé, said Singh had been “instrumental in steering Nestlé through these last challenging years”.
