CALIFORNIAN almond and raisin grape growers are wary of possible heavy rain storms that could affect their crops. Many of the nuts are still under trees waiting to be picked up, while raisin grapes are still laid out on trays. The cool spring has meant the crops were delayed by a week or two this year, with some growers unable to get raisins drying before the crop insurance deadline in late September.
