Brazil forced to import more apples

BRAZILIAN apple imports have risen sharply, prompted by a strong real and a poor quality national harvest following hailstorms, the Office for Foreign Trade (Secex) has said. In the period running January-August this year, Brazilian off-take of fruits grew 47.7%, reaching 50 800 tonnes.
