INDIAN seafood exports have broken the USD2.8 billion barrier during the 2010-11 financial year, with frozen shrimp accounting for over 44% of the total quantity exported. India exported 813 091 tonnes of marine products, (worth USD2.85 billion), last financial year, according to figures released by the Marine Products Export Development Authority (MPEDA). Seafood exports grew nearly 20% by volume, over 28% by rupee value and nearly 34% in dollar terms.
