Overcrowded Polish energy drinks market forces export drive

THE Polish energy drinks market has grown by 2% in value and 11% in volume in the past year and is now worth PLN850 million (USD300), The Financial reported. Some 85% of the market is 'classic' energy drinks such as Red Bull. At present there are 120-150 companies selling energy drinks in Poland, and the stiff competition is forcing some to look to export. An 8% market increase is expected in neighbouring Belarus and 14% in Ukraine. Ustronianka is looking to enter Lithuania, Latvia and Russia, while Las Vegas Energy Drink plans to enter several west European and near eastern markets. Tiger is already available in Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia and Macedonia.
