CHINA is examining the possibility of buying noni juice from the Pacific Islands, according to Radio New Zealand International. The station reports that a delegation of Chinese businesspeople has been in Niue, Samoa and the Cook Islands, looking at sourcing noni (and other investment opportunities). Members of the New Zealand Chinese Business Roundtable were travelling with representatives from the Auckland-based Reef Group, which owns a large noni operation on Niue. The team was led by Natural Dairy NZ Holdings Ltd's director Jack Chen, whose Hong Kong-based company had tried unsuccessfully to buy the Crafar family dairy farms in New Zealand.
