LIFEWAY Foods, a leading supplier of cultured dairy products known as kefir, has recorded an impressive set of quarterly results. The group saw gross sales jump 30% to USD20 million for its second quarter ended 30 June, 2011, compared with USD15.5 million in the year-ago period. Growth was mainly driven by a growing awareness of the benefits of its flagship line, Kefir, as well as ProBugs Organic Kefir for kids and the successful introduction of new product lines. Chief executive, Julie Smolyansky, said the group continues to expect 2011 to be "a year of record sales and profitability".
