SAINSBURY'S has announced that its group development director, Darren Shapland , is to step down at the company's AGM on 13 July. Shapland, who will be leaving the company to pursue a number of personal interests in the future, will remain with the UK grocer as non-executive chairman of Sainsbury's Bank. He will be succeeded by Luke Jensen , currently managing director of non-food, who will assume all of Shapland's existing responsibilities except for convenience, the bank and property. Sainsbury's chief executive, Justin King , will assume direct responsibility for the convenience business while John Rogers , chief financial officer, will add property to his remit.
