Brazil's new season juicesThis article was originally published in Foodnews
BRAZIL's Perola pineapple season has been running since April, according to a report from Atlantica, a processor in the country. Good weather has helped produce a good harvest, but demand from the fresh market is strong and is constraining supplies for processing. This fresh demand, says the report, is partly due to a government policy of encouraging low-income consumers to start trying new products. Brazil's red grape harvest was wound up at the end of March, and volumes processed for juice, as well as product quality, are reported to be very good and up to processors' expectations. There should be ample red grape juice concentrate available to meet customer demands. Atlantica has also announced that it is now supplying organic and conventional NFC orange juice in 8-10 and 10-12 ratios.
