Possible new MSG plant

A CHINESE firm is considering establishing a factory to produce monosodium glutamate (MSG) in Koprinica, Croatia. The potential project was announced by the president of the management board of the Croatian seasonings maker, Podravka, which would become a buyer of the MSG. Miroslav Vitkovic revealed the plan on his return from a fair in Shanghai. According to Croatian media, the company, which is one of the largest MSG manufacturers in the world, would invest EUR100 million (USD146 million) in a plant to be run by 600 workers.
