Aseptic fillers in two sizes

This article was originally published in Foodnews

KHS HAS launched two new aseptic fillers, the Asbofill ABF 611 (for 0.1-0.75-litre plastic bottles) and Asbofill ABF 711 (for bottles of 0.25-2.1 litres), for non-carbonated drinks that are capable of processing up to 12 000 plastic bottles an hour. The new machines, designed for different shaped bottles, can be used for filling milks, yogurt drinks, fruit juices or juice drinks. One machine can fill PET or HDPE without conversion and specially shaped rectangular or square bottles can be processed easily, thanks to integrated neck handling. Options available include nitrogen flushing. For safety, bottles and closures are sterilised in a two-step process that begins with spraying by an H202 aerosol and then drying with hot air.
