Canned sacrificial meat

This article was originally published in Foodnews

SAUDI Arabia has exported a quantity of frozen local meat to Malaysia, where it is to be canned by a local company. The shipment of korban (sacrificial meat) is the first of many shipments, according to the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) which added that the canning of the frozen meat was initiated by the Saudi government for the management of Muslims worldwide. This followed a request from the Muslim Aid Organisation of the UK, which is bearing the cost of canning and distribution to the needy. Canning will extend the shelf life of the meat for up to 18 months.
