THE value of Iranian dried fruit and nut exports has risen by 25%, reaching USD1.455 billion in the year ending 20 March 2011.According to Assadollah Asgaroladi, a senior member of Iran's Chamber of Commerce, the Islamic Republic exported 350 000 tonnes of dried fruits and nuts during the period, IRIB reported. Iran exported 140 000 tonnes of pistachio to China, Russia, Europe and other Arabic nations, he added. Asgaroladi noted that Europe, Arab states, North Africa and Canada are the main export destinations for Iran's 80000 tonnes of dates and 90000 tonnes of raisins.
