Coke invests in recyclingThis article was originally published in Foodnews
COCA-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has entered into a joint venture with Eco Plastics to build a new recycling facility in Lincolnshire that will more than double the UK's ability to recycle drinks bottles. The new GBP15 million (USD34.5 million) plant, to be built near Gainsborough, is expected to be operational next year. It will employ 30 people. According to CCE, it will allow the UK to process 75 000 tonnes of polyethylene terephthalate per year, up from 35 000 tonnes currently. The project is part of a 10-year joint venture between the two companies, which will see Eco Plastics guarantee an annual supply of recycled plastic to CCE.
