CITRUS producer organisations in Argentina are predicting that they will be able to export up to 30% more citrus fruit this season, writes Diane Farquhar. Producer groups in the province of Corrientes, Cooperativa San Francisco Ltda de Monte Caseros and the Cooperative Exportadora Citrícola de Corrientes de Mocoretá, exported around 800 000 boxes of oranges and mandarins in the 2009/10 season. According to Miguel Rosbaco of Cooperativa San Francisco, favourable weather conditions due to a La Niña event this season have led to high expectations among the producers. He added that fruit quality is high this season, Fruchthandel Magazin reports.
