Cyclone damage

STARKIST's tuna cannery in American Samoa is expected to be closed in the short term because of damage caused to the plant by Cyclone Wilma. Mary Sestric, a spokesperson for the cannery, said on Wednesday 26 January that they are thankful that Cyclone Wilma did not cause injuries to employees and their families but there is damage to roof panels and the cannery's emergency response plan has been activated to assess and repair the damage. She estimates that the plant will be down for up to a week, reports Radio New Zealand.
