Latest CONAB estimate predicts welcome rise in orange output

BRAZIL's National Supply Company (CONAB) has announced its first preliminary forecast of the 2010/11 orange harvest in the state of São Paulo. Producers are expected to harvest around 353 million 40.8 kg boxes, or 9.56% more than CONAB's estimate for the 2009/10 harvest of 322.2 million boxes, comprising 297.5 million boxes in São Paulo state, 22.6 million boxes of losses and 2.1 million boxes produced for 'domestic consumption' (not marketed).
