Energy drinks outperform general soft drinks market

ENERGY drinks will have continued to outperform the soft drinks market by the end of 2010, seeing growth of 6-7%, ahead of the soft drinks market's 3%, according to a new report from Canadean. 'Emerging Trends & Growth Opportunities in Energy Drinks: Shots, Flavour Trends & Forecasts to 2015' found that Latin America and Asia have, and will continue to, drive growth, with the latter expected to have contributed 50% of the growth in 2010. Things will pick up in North America, while innovation will help sales in Europe.
