Vegetables hid cigarettes

A BRITISH lorry driver has been jailed for smuggling cigarettes, hidden in a load of frozen vegetables, into the UK from Dieppe, France. Benjamin Spicer, aged 33, was sentenced to four years in prison for being knowingly concerned in evading duty of GBP1.3 million on over six million Regal-branded cigarettes. Judge Tain said at Lewes Crown Court: "I have no doubt that your role was not just as a driver, but as a participant in a smuggling organisation."
