Grieg expands in Scotland

SHETLAND's leading salmon farmer, Grieg Seafood Hjaltland has just announced the acquisition of two salmon farming sites on the Isle of Skye, off the west coast of Scotland. The deal is worth GBP2.45 million to the subsidiary of Norwegian company Grieg Seafood ASA, reports. Grieg's permit for the sites will allow a total production volume of 3 000 tonnes, gutted weight, per generation. Grieg Seafood Hjaltland produces a range of fresh, smoked and marinated salmon products under the Wild Waters brand.
