Raw material grape prices unlikely to drop, claims exchange

MEMBERS of Izmir’s Mercantile exchange, the only bourse in the world to designate raisin prices, have told FOODNEWS that Turkey’s shorter crop has meant that the high base price of TRY3.00 (USD2.02) per kg announced by Taris is unlikely to go down in the near future. Prices have also been kept high following the USA’s short crop.
