FDA pulls up Penguin

THE US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has warned US manufacturer the Penguin Juice Company that its products are considered adulterated because they are not pasteurised, despite being labelled as such. Canadean reported that, in a letter of caution sent to the Penguin Juice Company earlier this month, the FDA claimed that it had found “serious violations� of the juice Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) regulation. As one example, the organisation pointed out that the Michiganbased firm’s Natural Apple Juice Blend Concentrate was misbranded as being “from a pasteurised quality product�.
