ROMANIAN wine has made a "major breakthrough" in the UK by winning a listing with Oddbins, the first time in ten years that the high street wine merchant will sell the country's wine. Oddbins will stock Frunza Pinot Grigio 2009, made in the Banat region by Crame Recas, for GBP5.99. Philip Cox, managing director of Cramele Recas, said the Oddbins listing was a breakthrough that would hopefully have a positive impact on the rest of the Romanian industry. Oddbins buyer Ana Sapungiu said there had been a "vast improvement in the quality of Romanian wines in the past decade."
