Harboe withdraws product

This article was originally published in Foodnews

DENMARK's Harboe Bryggeri is removing its X-Ray Juicy energy drinks from stores, as it turns out that the product contains 10 times more vitamin B6 and two times more caffeine than the guidance values without having made the statutory declaration to the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (VFA). Scott LaHart writes: X-ray soft drinks come in 500ml packages, in flavours such as cranberry/pomegranate and orange/mango/passion fruit, and have been sold in Fakta shops across the country. But after it came forward that the company had not made the statutory declaration to VFA, the products were pulled. Caffeine in the amount attributed to the product is considered a health risk.
